Emergence of Bamboo Silk

This is the research study that we conducted with Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles.

This project is of significant importance as it delves into the inevitable emergence of Bamboo silk in the immediate future.

It aims to study in detail its impact on the existing cocoon-based silk industry and its potential in creating silk textiles with a myriad of blending possibilities.

It also proposed to examine the livelihood enhancement based on bamboo silk and the challenges that the existing silk industries and the lives dependent on them will face.

The study mainly concerns the Silk Industry scenario. It will not only help silk issues in the country but may also tangentially define the livelihood challenges of tribal communities based on silk rearing and making.
